Vacancy: Head of Research Projects
Who we are
Lviv Media Forum is a civil society organisation that has been systematically supporting and developing independent media and institutions since 2013. We foster healthy public dialogue both in Ukraine and abroad.
Our researches form the basis for developing and improving strategies and policies of international organisations and donors in the media support sector. For instance, thanks to our report, the World Bank recognised the media sector as part of the economy — without this recognition, media could not be included in Ukraine’s recovery plan.
- Operational management of research projects: managing and coordinating the research team; delegating tasks to analysts; planning and monitoring project timelines; overseeing research budgets.
- Standardisation and quality assurance: setting and ensuring compliance with internal research standards so that outputs meet project commitments.
- Development of research methodologies
- Preparation of analytical reports
- Development of new research directions: designing new analytical products and research services.
- Communication with partners and clients: presenting and explaining research ideas and reports.
Media expertise: deep understanding of the Ukrainian media market, its regulation, standards, media economics, the impact of AI, media consumption trends, and disinformation.
Project management: proven experience managing research projects from concept to final report, including building multidisciplinary teams, allocating budgets, managing timelines, and planning risks and team workload.
Methodological expertise: experience developing and implementing mixed-method research methodologies (sampling for qualitative and quantitative methods, designing tools, validating data, understanding errors, representativeness, and limitations).
Data analysis and specialised analytics: experience analysing sociological data, drawing conclusions and insights. Experience in content analysis, discourse analysis, narrative/manipulation analysis, and interpreting media monitoring data.
Research design: experience developing research designs based on stakeholders needs, including writing Terms of Reference (ToR) and methodological descriptions.
Preparation of analytical materials: experience writing analytical reports, policy briefs, and executive summaries.
English language: B2/C1 (Upper-Intermediate/Advanced) level for professional communication.
Location: living in Lviv or willing to relocate after the probation period.

Salary: discussed during the interview. Reviewed annually based on a performance review.
