Important: The Lviv Media Forum community is under attack from phishing scammers (updated)

For the second month in a row, members of the Lviv Media Forum community have been receiving Signal messages inviting them to participate in the LMF 2026 conference, allegedly sent by our team. This is a phishing attack. Registration for the LMF 2026 conference is not open.

The person introducing herself as Zhanna Beshyrova (the perpetrators may also use other names), an “event manager of the Lviv Media Forum,” has never worked for our organization.

The messages being circulated looks similar to these"

This attack is likely linked to a Russian hacker group. They use elements of our visual identity, messaging, and positioning. Therefore, we reiterate the following:

  • Registration for the LMF 2026 conference is currently not open.
  • Any official information about the LMF conference is published exclusively on our website (this is our only official domain).
  • The current composition of our team is always available here.
  • Representatives of the Lviv Media Forum never ask and will never ask you to log in, enter passwords, or provide any other personal data.

How to protect yourself:

  • If you receive a message (in any messenger or by email), allegedly from our team, inviting you to the Lviv Media Forum conference or any other event, do not follow any links.
  • Please contact us at info@lvivmediaforum.com or via direct messages and send screenshots of each suspicious case — we are collecting them for analysis.
  • If you have already followed a link, update your passwords (including Gmail and Apple ID) and enable two-factor authentication.

We are doing everything possible to minimize the impact of this attack and kindly ask you to remain vigilant.
