Ukrainian media and journalists can get equipment to strengthen energy independence

Reporters Without Borders (RSF) is launching its 2024 call for applications for essential equipment to provide alternative energy to Ukrainian media professionals and journalists, in collaboration with the Institute of Mass Information (IMI) and the Lviv Media Forum (LMF), and with the financial support of the European Union Delegation in Ukraine.

The project aims to support independent media, freelance journalists and media organisations affected by Russia's attacks on Ukraine.

Within the project, it is possible to obtain:

  • generators;
  • power banks for laptops (approximately 130 W) and mobile phones;
  • ordinary and high-power charging stations (from 500 to 1800 W).

Please note that the full package of equipment (generators, power banks and charging stations) can be obtained by editorial offices and media organisations. Freelance journalists can only get power banks.

To join the project and receive the equipment, please fill in the form:

  • Type of your media (online, print, TV, radio, etc.);
  • Scope of coverage (local/regional or national);
  • How power outages affect your work;
  • Desired quantity of each type of equipment.

The organisers are accepting applications via the link until 24 April, 23:59.

Registration does not guarantee selection to the programme. You will receive an email response within two weeks of submission. The organisers reserve the right not to provide explanations for the selection results.

The amount of equipment provided and the delivery time depend on both the availability of equipment on the market and the security situation in a particular area. If you have any questions about the program, please contact lvivpfc@rsf.org

Ukrainian media and journalists can get equipment to strengthen energy independence

We would like to remind you that thanks to the cooperation with donors and partners, in 2022-2023 Lviv Media Forum managed to close emergency requests for more than 50 editorial offices from all over Ukraine.
