Strengthening Cooperation between Ukrainian and Visegrad Four (V4) media communities

Lviv Media Forum announces the launch of a project strengthening connections between Ukrainian and Visegrad Four (V4) media communities.

The initiative will take center stage at the XI LMF Conference, themed “Speak the Unspoken: Choices, Decisions, Responsibility,” scheduled for May 15-17, 2025, and will bring together over 500 participants from 25+ countries.

This project focuses on enhancing cross-border collaboration, exchanging best practices, and promoting democratic values. By addressing challenges like propaganda and narrowing information bubbles, it aims to foster a more informed and resilient society. Discussions will highlight Ukraine's narrative in the global media landscape, integrating insights into regional and international practices.

Working with foreign media is a key focus of the organization's activities. As part of this effort, Lviv Media Forum organizes visits for European journalists to Ukraine, has developed a platform for foreign media called the Reporting Ukraine Guide, and, in 2024, hosted a conference that brought together participants from over 30 countries.

LMF 2025 will provide a dynamic platform for media professionals, public officials, donor organizations, PR experts, and thought leaders to come together. Through interactive discussions and collaborative efforts, participants will explore ways to counter disinformation, strengthen connections, and share innovative tools and resources. The event will also highlight how lessons from Ukraine's fight for democracy can be integrated into global media practices.

Key partners include Nadační fond nezávislé žurnalistiky (NFNZ) and Outriders. The project is co-financed by the governments of Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants from the International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
