Lviv Media Forum announces the LMF 2026 conference program
In 2026, the LMF conference will take place on May 14–16 in Lviv. This year’s theme is “Reality Under Attack: Flight, Freeze, or Fight?”
The event will bring together Ukrainian and foreign media professionals working in international environments, including public intellectuals, researchers, politicians, representatives of the civic sector, and international organizations.
The LMF 2026 program is divided into two streams:
- Frankly Spoken: a worldview-oriented stream covering the challenges facing media and democracy in a global context.
- Smartly Done: a practical stream dedicated to the daily work and challenges of Ukrainian and foreign media and communications specialists.
The full program is available here. All events will be held in English without translation.
This year’s keynote address at the opening ceremony will be delivered by Maksym Butkevych — a Ukrainian human rights activist, journalist, public figure, and serviceman.
The LMF 2026 program will also feature two key conversations:
“Getting off the Sedative: Can Societies Handle the Truth in the Age of Crisis?”
- Kolas Yotaka: former spokesperson for the Office of the President of the Republic of China (Taiwan) and cabinet spokesperson.
- Mark Laity: strategic communications expert, former Director of the Communications Division at SHAPE (Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, NATO).
- Solvita Denisa-Liepniece: researcher and Head of the Strategic Communications and Coordination Department of the State Chancellery of Latvia.
- Moderator: Valerii Pekar — public figure, entrepreneur, and lecturer at Kyiv-Mohyla Business School (kmbs) and UCU.
“Get Complicated. How to Counter Autocracies Through the Philosophy of Bildung”
- Lene Rachel Andersen: Danish philosopher and researcher on the topic of choice in the postmodern era.
The talk will be moderated by Valerii Pekar.
Later, the side events program and the cultural program will also be published on the LMF 2026 website.
