Four media outlets from Dnipropetrovs'k Oblast participate in Lviv Media Forum support program

As part of the Strategic Media Support Program, Lviv Media Forum is helping Ukrainian media outlets thrive amid the crisis. One of the initiatives focused on supporting teams from the Dnipropetrovs’k Oblast, who have now completed the content audit stage—and we’re excited to share the results.

This year, four independent media outlets from the region are participating in the program:

POMIZH – A media outlet about Dnipro and the region, launched in 2022. It focuses on themes of identity, cultural and historical heritage, memory, urban mythology, and literature.

Dnipro.media – A media outlet dedicated to Dnipro. It aims to break stereotypes about the city, highlight its multiculturalism and volunteer initiatives, and foster a conscious and engaged local community.

● Vilnohirsk IN.UA – The first media platform created to support the development of the Vilnohirsk community. It covers local events and issues while seeking solutions and amplifying community voices.

Misto and Richka – A project that explains how to navigate life in a complex city like Dnipro using clear language and accessible information formats.

An in-depth content audit was conducted by Otar Dovzhenko, media analyst and creative director of Lviv Media Forum.

The team behind Misto and Richka reported that they immediately began implementing the expert’s recommendations regarding website structure and content layout.

For the POMIZH team, the most valuable feedback focused on branding and communication strategies. The audit helped them better understand how to present their diverse content—social media posts, online articles, print magazine pieces, and podcasts.

Maryna Prakhova, Project Manager, POMIZH

“This analysis allowed us to take an outside perspective on our work, which is incredibly valuable. We’ve already improved our website navigation and updated the homepage. For our upcoming magazine issue, we added footnotes with short author bios, and we’ve started telling our audience more about the writers and podcast guests”

For Dnipro.media, Dovzhenko recommended emphasizing real people in stories and making the editorial team's voice more visible. In response, the outlet launched a new section, Opinions, which now features several author columns.

“It was an opportunity to assess our work through a structured lens and receive practical, specific advice,” — Anna Matvienko, Founder of Dnipro.media.

Vilnohirsk IN.UA editorial board

“We focused on producing unique content, as Otar advised. There are fewer materials now, but they’re more relevant to our audience. We’ve become better at recognizing bureaucratic language in our texts and avoiding it. We also increased the number of speakers—giving active residents more space to share their views through videos and comments”
