Five Ukrainian Media Outlets to Receive Strategic Support
Lviv Media Forum has selected participants for a project implemented in partnership with UNESCO as part of its ongoing Strategic Media Support Program. This time, strategic support will be provided to five editorial teams:
We received 115 applications from media outlets representing 18 regions of Ukraine, as well as from media operating abroad.
The Strategic Media Support Program is designed to support media organizations that are growing and ready to evolve. During the selection process, we assessed the stability of editorial teams, adherence to professional journalism standards and the Code of Ethics, the presence of a clear development vision, openness to change and innovation, and commitment to financial independence and income diversification. We also evaluated how realistic the proposed strategies were and whether teams demonstrated the capacity to implement them.
Within the project, each of the five selected media outlets will receive financial support of USD 6,000. In addition, participating teams will undergo content audits and operational assessments and, together with experts, identify their strategic needs to refine and strengthen their development plans. The project will run from January to June 2026.
The Strategic Media Support Program is a long-term initiative of Lviv Media Forum aimed at fostering media growth. The program focuses on implementing strategic plans that help media outlets strengthen their organizational capacity, develop and scale projects, operate more efficiently, diversify revenue streams, improve content quality, expand formats, and reach wider audiences.
The project is developed and implemented by Lviv Media Forum in partnership with UNESCO and is part of UNESCO’s broader efforts to support journalists’ safety and freedom of expression in Ukraine.
