We invite you to the screening of the film "ABC" about sexual violence during the war
We invite you to watch the documentary 'ABC' by the Estonian freelance documentary filmmaker Madli Lääne and discuss the issue of war-related sexual violence.
The main character is nineteen-year-old Wele, a survivor of sexual violence during the Liberian civil war. All she wants to do is learn to read and write to keep up with her seven-year-old daughter. Even the fact that she can write her name, after years of civil war in Liberia, represents a step towards independence - away from a painful past and towards a better future.
Please join the discussion:
- Khrystyna Kit, Head of the Board of the Ukrainian Women Lawyers Association "JurFem";
- Myroslava Kvasnytsia, Coordinator of the Survivor Relief Centre;
- representative of the Office of the Prosecutor General from the Department for Combating Crimes Committed in the Context of Armed Conflict.
The discussion will be moderated by Zoya Krasovska, an analyst at Lviv Media Forum, a member of the NGO Women in Media.
When: 7 March, 16.30. Where: Lviv Media Hub (120G Shevchenka Street, space Kivsh, building 1). To attend the event, register here.
