Lviv Media Forum is now accepting applications for a training program for journalists who want to write for foreign media

Lviv Media Forum is launching the Global Journalism Hub: Empowering Ukrainian Voices for Ukrainian Journalists. The project aims to support Ukrainian journalists in strengthening their collaboration with foreign publications and preparing articles for an international audience.

The program will run from December to February in both online and offline formats and will include:

  • a series of several-hour online training sessions,
  • a two-day workshop in Lviv,
  • an online session on effective topic pitching, and
  • individual online mentorship.

Training will be conducted in English and Ukrainian. We will teach participants how to collaborate with news agencies, write news articles, feature stories, and reports for foreign media, pitch topics correctly, build a strong professional reputation, and attract the interest of international editors.

The course instructors include foreign experts and Ukrainian media professionals with successful experience working with international media.

The program is open to Ukrainian journalists with an English proficiency level of at least B2. Prior experience working with foreign media is an advantage but not a requirement.

Project mentors will guide each participant in preparing a piece of writing and provide advice on how to best pitch it for publication to foreign media outlets.

Applications are open until November 11 (11:59 p.m.) 2024, and the selection results will be announced to applicants by November 22.
