How to talk to Americans in the Trump Era: key points for audiences
On October 6 at 5 p.m. Kyiv time, the Lviv Media Forum invites everyone to join an expert online discussion entitled “How to talk to Americans in the Trump era: keys to different audiences.”
The discussion will focus on the new conditions and specifics of building dialogue, communication, and promoting the Ukrainian perspective in the United States — both among decision-makers and their constituents — in a practical way and based on real cases.
- What should one know about the current situation in U.S. government circles and society in order to properly understand the rhetoric of American interlocutors?
- Should Ukraine try to appeal to Donald Trump’s voters — and avoid irritating them?
- Which audiences in the U.S. are most receptive to Ukrainians, and which still need to be won over?
- Which arguments and tactics no longer work, and which, on the contrary, are worth adopting?
- How should messages be formulated to gain support for Ukraine?
- Is it really necessary to wear a suit and constantly express gratitude?
Experts will help us explore these questions:
Ostap Yarysh — Ukrainian journalist, media advisor to Razom for Ukraine, and former correspondent for Voice of America.
Vladyslav Faraponov — Ukrainian political scientist and head of the Institute of American Studies.
The discussion will be moderated by communications expert Iryna Domnenko.
The event will be broadcast online on the Lviv Media Forum Facebook page.
