We invite you to join the online discussion “Bridging Gaps and Misunderstandings: How to Make Friends for Ukraine in Central and Eastern Europe”.
During the event, we will discuss:
- How to better understand the cultural and diplomatic nuances of interacting with our closest Western neighbors;
- How to avoid common mistakes and challenges in diplomacy;
- How to refine strategies for more effective work in 2025.
Speaker—Joanna Krawczyk, manager and expert in international communication, media development, and civil society cooperation.
Joanna Krawczyk holds a degree in cultural studies from Jagiellonian University in Kraków. She worked at Gazeta Wyborcza and initiated the creation of the Gazeta Wyborcza Foundation, focusing on media development. Joanna led the Ukrainian Media Fund, an international initiative supporting Ukrainian media during the war, and was a Deputy Director of the German Marshall Fund of the United States East. Currently, she works at the German investigative media project Correctiv.
The discussion will be moderated by Zoya Krasovska, host of the podcast “The Nuances of Translation”.

This event is part of a series of closed meetings for professionals from various fields who promote Ukraine’s perspective on the international stage. We are creating a platform to exchange experiences and effective communication approaches in unfriendly or indifferent environments.
