Book Club Meeting: “Hiroshima” by John Hersey

On Wednesday, June 17, at 5:00 PM, we welcome you to Lviv Media Hub for another Book Club meeting, organised by Lviv Media Forum in collaboration with the creative space KIVSH and the Choven Publishing House. This time, we will discuss John Hersey’s Hiroshima.

This book is a classic of literary journalism and one of the defining works of 20th-century American reportage. It tells the stories of six Japanese survivors who lived through and after the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. Hersey carefully reconstructs the context of the events, weaving together personal testimonies of survivors with historical facts.

We will send mandatory reading excerpts from the book to all participants who register for the event, though we encourage you to read the full book if possible.

The discussion will be moderated by Ihor Balynskyi, editor and co-founder of the Choven Publishing House and research analyst at Lviv Media Forum.

Venue: Lviv Media Hub (KIVSH creative space, 120h Shevchenka Street)

Participation requires prior registration via the link.

Ticket: UAH 250 (donation to the organisation’s charity fund).
