Addressing Ukraine fatigue in the media: keeping the story alive

Addressing Ukraine fatigue in the media: keeping the story alive – a discussion hosted by Lviv Media Forum as part of the International Journalism Festival in Perugia, Italy.

International Journalism Festival brings together thousands of participants and hundreds of speakers to discuss the key challenges facing modern journalism. One of today’s biggest challenges is “Ukraine fatigue”—the declining audience interest and shrinking reach of stories about our country.

The largest war in Europe this century has been ongoing for over 1,000 days. How can we maintain global focus? How do we tell compelling stories that resonate? How do we avoid saturation while upholding ethical journalism?

These questions will be tackled by Alicia Alamillos, editor-in-chief international desk at El Confidencial; Sonia Delesalle-Stolper, chief foreign editor at Libération; and Daryna Shevchenko, CEO of The Kyiv Independent. The discussion will be moderated by Zoya Krasovska, media expert and consultant for Lviv Media Forum.

When: April 10, 14:00–14:50 (CET)

Where: Teatro del Pavone, Perugia

This session will be live-streamed and on-demand. More details via the link.
