William P. Davis is an assistant editor at The New York Times, where he has worked on improving the paper’s digital journalism by building better tools and by bridging product and the newsroom. He was the product lead for photo tools, overseeing ambitious projects to expand The Times’s use of visuals in storytelling and to digitize and make searchable The Times’s physical archive of millions of photos. Most recently he has been an editor on the business desk. Before joining The Times, he worked at the Bangor Daily News in Maine, where he helped lead the newsroom’s digital transformation and oversaw product and technology.
