Lviv Media Forum launches its own publishing house. Together with the School of Journalism UCU it translated to Ukrainian the collection of reports of Polish writer Katarzyna Kwiatkowska-Moskalewicz. Kill the Dragon. Ukrainian Revolutions is presented in May 26 on Lviv Media Forum 2017.
The book consists of reportages that cover history of Ukraine since Maidan in 2004 till beginning of the Donbas war. The author perfectly understands post-Soviet realities, because she has been living in Ukraine, Belarus and Russia for a long time.
“In autumn 2013 Ukraine turned into the reportage proving ground of the Old World”, – says Otar Dovzhenko (lecturer in School of Journalism UCU) in the preface. – “Books about the phenomenon of sudden nation were springing up like mushrooms after the rain. The special feature of Kill the Dragon is that the Polish author has written it. Literature of fact is kind of a special culture or national sport in Poland. Tools of non-fiction – reportage and verbatim – allowed Katarzyna Kwiatkowska-Moskalewicz to make a series of “text photos” of Ukrainian reality.
The book was translated to Ukrainian by Andriy Bondar. The readers can see graphics of Oleksa Mann on the book cover. Kill the Dragon is published with financial support of MyMedia.
The book will be presented on the second day of Lviv Media Forum 2017 (26th of May) during public talk between Katarzyna Kwiatkowska-Moskalewicz and Otar Dovzhenko.
